Keyboarding I

You develop accurate touch keystroking of text and data appropriate for personal use and the application of efficient workstation procedures.

Evaluation:

1. Text entry at 20 words per minute (wpm):                                                                  30%

• on alphabetic keys · one-minute duration ·
• maximum one uncorrected error
• minimum keystroke rate: 20 words per minute

2. Numeric entry at 80 keystrokes per minute (kpm) - on numeric keypad:                10%             

• one-minute duration
• maximum one uncorrected error
• minimum keystroke rate 80 numeric keystrokes per minute on 1 to 3 digit numbers.

3. Technique:                                                                                                                    40%

• observations over the last quarter of the learning period, during timing and drill work. 40

4. Workstation routines                                                                                                   20%

• demonstrating appropriate workstation routines
  

1. You will be required to complete all of the 18 exercises in the Skill Builder and Testing Center.
2. When you complete an 3 exercises in the Skill Builder you go to the Testing Center and complete a test.
3. You repeat this process until you have finished all the exercises in the Skill Builder and Testing Center. 
4. Your records will be saved every time you use the computer.
