Information Processing Course Outlines

The option classes in Information Processing afford students at all grade levels the opportunity to choose from a variety of modules to work on for a term. Students should strive to successfully complete all of the Module Learner Expectations in a given module. In grade 8, students complete Computer Operations and Keyboarading 1. In grade 9, students complete WordProcessing 1. Any student who completes these modules, chooses his/her courses in a progression of Introductory, Intermediate, Advanced (see chart) to acheive as many grade 12 Advanced CTS Credits as possible. If the module and/or test is successfully completed, credit is assigned at that time.

Keep in mind each option course is one term in length, or approximately 12 to 13 weeks (each module requires approximately 25 hours of instruction/work time to complete). All assignments, projects and testing must be completed within that time. A brief description of each module appears below. Be sure to notify your teacher regarding the module you wish to work on. Some modules have pre-requisites, for example, Information Highway I must be completed before Information Highway II.
