The school is located on the shores of Great Slave Lake where the students have a huge “outdoor classroom” for skiing and sports, science and geography, hiking, fishing and trapping and many other unique cultural activities.

Our main emphasis is on developing student literacy and numeracy skills, integrating Dene Language and Culture and developing respectful and responsible students. All students learn to take responsibility for themselves, to work as a team and develop critical thinking skills. The students in the K,1,2 class demonstrate the success of our Leadership for Literacy Initiative. Students develop independence and confidence in their reading skills and are comfortable taking leadership roles with their peers.
